Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna, on Wednesday morning, September 4, turned his guns towards Chief Justice, David Maraga, over his insistence on maintaining an outdated court dress.
Comparing the Kenyan CJ with his UK counterpart, Maraga claimed that maintaining the colonial wig that was abolished by most countries was an embarrassment to the country.
Miguna did not also spare National Assembly Speaker, Justin Muturi, who similarly dons a wig during parliamentary sessions.
"Hello Kenyans, let's throw away the dirty colonial wigs and pump in fresh oxygen into those heads of advocates, judges and speakers.
"Kenyan lawyers, judges and speakers are embarrassing to the world! The dirty wig is no longer won in the UK!" Expressed Miguna.
When asked his thoughts on the continued appearance of the wigs in the Kenyan scene even after former CJ Willy Mutunga's attempt to eliminate it, Miguna linked it to the normalisation of systemic corruption.
"To mesmerize ordinary Kenyans in order for the inept elites to justify why they must continue looting and dominating the people," he responded.
The embattled lawyer, who resides in Canada since he was deported in 2018, is known for attacking various people with the most notable one being former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who he once worked for as an advisor.
On August 20, Miguna stooped and attacked Raila's five nicknames that he was christened every election season mostly by his supporters.
Taking to Facebook, Miguna argued that the former premier had changed his nicknames every election season claiming that the move never got him any victories.
"In 1997 Raila Odinga ran for president and called himself Tinga/Tractor. In 2002, he vied again through Kibaki (former president) and became Nyundo. In 2007, he ran for the presidency and called himself Captain Hummer. In 2013, he tried again and said he was Joshua.
"In 2017, he became Baba. In 2018, he became [Expletive]. Nicknames will never liberate Kenya or get him power," argued Miguna.
