Joho in Mourning

Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho, on Saturday, September 21, mourned one of his staffers.

Taking to his social media platforms, the governor disclosed that the county's Environment Chief Officer, Francis Kombe, had passed on.

Joho eulogised him as one of the most committed and selfless members of staff in his administration.

"I am deeply saddened by the passing on of my Environment Chief Officer the late Mr. Francis Kombe, I lost a personal friend and one of the most committed and selfless officers in my Government.

"My condolences to his family, friends and the people of Mombasa. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace," he wrote.

On June 25, 2019, Kombe was reshuffled from being the Water Chief Officer to the environment docket.

In late August, the Mombasa boss swung into action after a former county supplier, Stephen Asher, was found dead inside his house.

This is after the supplier's friend, one MC Stano, pleaded with the governor to intervene, claiming that Asher had not been paid his dues nearly two years after he had done business with the county.

In his rejoinder, the flamboyant governor promised to swing into action and ensure that justice prevails.

"Good evening to you too brother. I would like to know what he exactly supplied and all the relevant documents. I will personally pick up from there," the governor had responded to Stano.
