Busy Nairobi Road to be Closed on Sunday

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (Kura) has announced that a section of the outer ring road will be closed on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In a statement signed by the Kura director-general, the authority stated that traffic on both sides of the Mutindwa junction and Jogoo road would be affected.

Kura stated that the closure would allow the installation of a footbridge along the outer Ring Road near Tena estate.

Further, they directed motorists to take precaution while approaching the area and follow the respective signs provided.

"Traffic marshalls will be on-site to guide and provide alternative routes during the installation period.

"We apologise for the inconvenience that may be caused as we endeavor to provide efficient urban road network," an excerpt from the statement read.

On Saturday, September 14 and Sunday, September 15, a section of Thika Superhighway was closed for construction of the Outer Ring overpass.

Traffic marshalls at the scene guided motorists traveling to the city centre to use service lanes.
