Sarah Wairimu, the wife to the late Tob Cohen, sought access to her Kitisuru home in a fresh application on Wednesday, November 13, 2019.
Wairimu asked for permission to collect her personal belongings from the home, including two dogs Major and Snow -a Labrador/Rottweiler crossbreed and a Rottweiler/Doberman crossbreed.
In court documents seen by Citizen Digital, Wairimu specified that she wanted to pick her clothes, personal grooming items, music collection, golfing equipment, foodstuff beverages and perishable goods.
“The applicant has lost a significant source of income and is therefore only capable of meeting her immediate subsistence needs and is constrained to further meet the cost of the purchase of new items,” read court papers.
Sarah, through her lawyer Philip Murgor, reiterated that she was innocent until proven guilty.
Further, she cited that the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) was in illegal possession of her home and property.
On Tuesday, November 12, Wairimu and her co-accused were charged afresh after the prosecution made a successful application to have the two murder cases consolidated.
“The matters should be consolidated because the offences in the two files were committed on similar dates and the victim is the same,” stated Catherine Mwaniki, a prosecutor.
Cohen was murdered in his Kitusuru residence in July this year.
