Fierce Nairobi Shoot-Out Leaves 3 Dead

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, on Sunday, January 19, were involved in a fiery shoot-out with suspected robbers along Landhies Road in Nairobi.

According to a post shared on DCI's official Twitter page, a tip-off from members of the public helped the police to zero on the group of suspects who were allegedly heading to commit a crime.

"We managed to intercept them along Landhies Road where they were challenged to surrender but instead shot at our officers," the DCI posted on Twitter.

Three of the suspects were gunned down and succumbed to the bullet wounds while one of them managed to slither through the melee and disappeared into Muthurwa estate, with the officers in hot pursuit.

Several items were found following the fiery encounter including one min 8 pistol, one Conther pistol, a pen knife & four rounds of ammunition.

It is not yet clear whether the suspects where the suspects were headed to prior to their fatal end, with the officers hoping to nab the fourth suspect.

"Our officers are on hot pursuit of the escaped suspect," DCI tweeted.
