Outgoing Chief Justice David Maraga was on Tuesday, December 15 feted at an exclusive party hosted by Senior Counsel members.
The party was hosted at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi and was exclusive to a few members of the judiciary and a number of Senior Counsel members.
Maraga was presented with a vintage-themed portrait depicting the CJ donning a peruke by the Senior Counsel team with a special message.
The outgoing Chief Justice was showered with praise from a number of Senior Counsel members including Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
"Today I joined fellow Senior Counsel Bar members as we hosted a farewell luncheon for the Chief Justice David Maraga.
"Maraga has served this country with great dedication and utmost fidelity to the supreme law of the land," noted the former Vice President.
Maraga's term is coming to an end in January 2021, after serving the country as the 14th Chief Justice since October 2016.
Maraga proceeded on terminal leave on Friday, December 11, before coming back in January to hand over the office.
Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo and former Mandera Central MP Abdikadir Mohamed also lauded Maraga for his service to the country.
