A seven year-old boy is reported to have battered to death his eight year-old neighbour in Migori County.
Tonny Omondi on Sunday evening allegedly suffered kicks and blows on the groin from the suspect, dying on the spot.
Migori OCPD Moses Chepyegon said they were holding the minor, awaiting an autopsy report to establish the cause of Omondi's death.
"After knowing the real cause of death it will give us a way to have the preferred charges on him. The definite charges will either be manslaughter or murder" Mr Chepyegon was quoted by the Standard.
Omondi's body was taken to the Migori County Referral hospital morgue.
The victim's family led by his father George Otieno, have asked the government to probe the incident that led to their son's death and ensure justice prevailed.
