In an interview with an Indian news outlet on Friday, February 17, Rosemary described her experience as horrific. She stated that she was living in darkness and felt as if she was not a human being.

Rosemary could not hide her joy upon regaining her eyesight and further recalled how her predicaments began in 2017.

She disclosed that her stroke was caused by an aneurysm, a swollen blood vessel that was leaking, according to her doctor's notes.

“Before flying to India I was pretty much living in the dark. I can say that I was existing and not living.

“I had a tumour in the brain then I had an aneurysm that was leaking which caused the stroke,” she disclosed.

Raila’s daughter stated that a family friend gave them hope after he introduced them to eye treatment specialists in India

“My father heard of this service from a friend of his who recommended us to try. One day the doctor called and asked us to go for a checkup.

“The medic asked if I could see anything. When he put the spectacles on my eye, I could see the letters,” he stated.

On his part, Dr Narayanan Namboothiri, who was treating Rosemary described how he was filled with joy when she responded to treatment.

“Last week she came here and she started the treatment again. I met her and she greatly improved. The first thing she said to me is that I can see you,” an overjoyed Namboothiri stated.

While accompanying her daughter for treatment to India on February 13, Raila disclosed that Rosemary lost her eyesight after undergoing surgery at a hospital in Nairobi.

"My daughter got sick about three years ago. She had some haemorrhage in the brain and as a result, she was operated on in Nairobi. In the process of the operation, they interfered with her optic nerve.

"We then transferred her to South Africa for treatment for three months. Unfortunately, she was not able to recover her eyesight. We sent her to Israel and again they did not do much," the ODM boss disclosed.
