Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka alleged that Deputy President William Ruto orchestrated a scheme to withdraw his wife's official car after the Jubilee administration assumed power in 2013.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, August 4, Kalonzo stated that the plan was to frustrate him having supported former Prime Minister Raila during the 2013 General Election.

Further, the Wiper party leader added that the DP made sure that his backyard did not get top positions in the Uhuru-Ruto government.

However, he explained that President Uhuru Kenyatta did not have any problem with him and was not part of the scheme.

"When the Jubilee government took over, my wife lost her official state car. In 2013 when Ruto got into power he made sure my wife lost her car. He is very conniving and heartless.

"He went for her car instead of mine and made sure Kamba community did not get any seats in Cabinet apart from CS Monica Juma," he stated.

In response to losing former Nairobi governor, Mike Sonko, to Ruto's team, the Wiper party boss indicated that Sonko's candidature was frustrated in Azimio, however, he maintained that they were in pole position to win the presidency.

Kalonzo also hit out at Ruto adding that the Kenya Kwanza leader would have helped the former governor to get cleared if he really cared about him.

"Sonko acted out of anger and I understand him but this is not the end. As Chief Minister, I will get Sonko cleared even without the by-election due to the appeal at the East African Community Court.

"There are so many narratives even stories about Americans not wanting to see Sonko in high seats and that is wrong," he stated.

The Wiper party leader had in recent months differed with the DP over his remarks regarding his chief minister position in Azimio with the UDA candidate claiming that Kalonzo was being duped by the ODM boss.

Kalonzo was Raila's running mate in the 2013 presidential elections as the duo run for office under the Coalition of Reforms and Democracy (CORD).

The duo ran for office again in 2017 under the NASA coalition with the support of Kenya Kwanza principals Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula.

Prior to the 2013 polls, Uhuru and Ruto were in negotiations with Kalonzo over a possible alliance before the then Vice President opted to join hands with Raila.

In his Autobiography - Against All Odds, Kalonzo recollected that he was to be the presidential flagbearer but was shortchanged at the last minute.

"I was stunned. I did not know at what point the arrangement we had earlier, of me being on the presidential ticket, had been changed. In the end, that is what happened," he stated.
