Judiciary Kenya has flagged social media pages warning that they do not belong to Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and Justice Isaac Lenaola.

According to a statement dated Friday, September 2, both Mwilu and Lenaola do not have social media accounts.

One of the social posts flagged as fake and misleading suggested that Lenaola had issued a statement affirming that Supreme Court was independent and free from public interference.

The fake Twitter page described Justice Lenaola as a farmer, independent thinker and an academic dwarf.

Earlier, the account with more than 300 followers suggested Azimio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga lost in the 2017 General Election.

However, Judiciary warned Kenyans not to fall victim to information emanating from the page.

"Justice Isaac Lenaola is not on Twitter," Michael Mumo, Communications Advisor - Office of the Chief Justice, stated.

"Lady Justice Philomena Mwilu, Deputy Chief Justice and Vice President of the Supreme Court, is also not on Twitter. We will inform you when she joins Twitter," he added.

The move to expose the fake accounts follows a series of misleading information shared widely regarding the seven judge-bench hearing the presidential election petitions.

In one instance, Judiciary Kenya dismissed reports that Justice Lenaola was paid Ksh1.7 by Uasin Gishu woman representative-elect, Gladys Shollei, to influence the Supreme Court outcome.

Only Chief Justice Martha Koome has verified social media pages.
