First Lady Rachel Ruto detailed that she will be touring various estates in Nairobi, especially slums, to understand the challenges Kenyans face.
Speaking in Nairobi on Saturday, November 5, the first lady was against staying at State House every day as she wanted to stay updated with reality in the country.
She made the revelation while distributing foodstuff in South B, where various leaders raised their grievances.
"I promise that I will come and see the hospital so that I can witness what is happening for myself.
"I will also go to the small villages to see what is happening. We do not want to sit at State House, yet we do not understand what is happening out here," she stated.
Further, Rachel called on Kenyans to help each other, noting that many families were affected by the adverse challenges of drought.
The First Lady stated that the government was implementing various initiatives. However, Kenyans needed to come together to assist each other.
"There is a Japanese saying that goes "If you want to live a long and happy life, then you should help others.
"Let us all work together to help one another. Let us not give up on helping others," she pledged.
Mama Rachel Ruto received a warm reception from the residents, with Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja pledging to assist her in accomplishing her mission.
'Thank you, your excellency. The MCA is happy, and I promise that we shall take you around," the governor asserted.
Rachel was accompanied by Pastor Dorcas Rigathi and Nairobi Women representative Esther Passaris.
