Two Ministries Dispose Used Cars in Mass Auction; How to Bid

The Ministry of Water and that of Tourism on Tuesday, June 20, announced the disposal of boarded motor vehicles, motorcycles, and assorted office equipment via public auction.

In a statement, the two ministries urged interested buyers to visit their official websites for more details about the inventory.

The ministry announced that the auction will be carried out on July 7 beginning at 10:00 am at the Utalii House Building by M/S High-Class Auctioneers.

All bidders seeking to view the items should, therefore, visit the venue from June 27 to Jun 29 between 9 am and 3 pm.

Bidders may also view and download the catalog from the State Department for Tourism’s website: www.tourism. go.ke and Treasury portal  www.suplier.treasury.go.ke.

To participate, the bidders should have a bid number after paying a deposit for the items they intend to buy which shall form part of the payment if the bidder is successful.

"The deposit shall be refunded to unsuccessful bidders," read part of the statement.

According to the auctioneer, all payments to State Department for Tourism shall be in the form of the banker's cheques and/or cash, and the bidders shall be issued with physical receipts.

Successful bidders shall deposit 25 per cent of the payment and pay the balance within seven days after the auction or risk losing the goods.

Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) under the Ministry of Water is seeking to auction boarded motor vehicles, motorcycles, and assorted office equipment and is looking for individuals to conduct the auction.

Interested candidates should get the tender documents from www.awwda.go.ke or www.tenders.go.ke for free.

All bidders must provide a refundable deposit in the form of a banker's cheque payable to the agency of the amount as contained in the tender document.

There will be a mandatory viewing/inspection of the vehicles/motorcycles for disposal at the Athi Water Plaza, Muthaiga North Road from June 21, 2023, to June 23, 2023, between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm except lunch hour 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

"Duly completed tenders must be deposited at the 'Tender Box'  in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the tender name and reference number on or before Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 10:00 am," read part of the statement.
