Radio Maisha presenter Mwende Macharia on Thursday, June 22, maintained that she acted professionally in an interview where media personality Azziad Nasenya walked out on her.

Addressing the matter a day after the incident, Macharia explained that she held no bad blood against the former Talanta Hela Council member.

The radio presenter noted that the walkout was not out of the ordinary because many journalists experienced it.

Nasenya had staged a walkout after being questioned about her work at Talanta Hela where she was appointed by Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Nawamba.

“There is no bad blood with Nasenya. She is a young woman and maybe the questions rubbed her the wrong way. I was just doing my job as a journalist.

"The walkouts happen from time to time so it is not the first time. I became friends with an artiste who walked out of our studio the other time,” she stated.

According to Nasenya, the duo had agreed not to talk about her work in the council that was disbanded by Sports CS Ababu Namwamba barely four months after it was formed.

Macharia had insisted on getting a response over the matter - a move that proved to have offended the media personality.

"We cannot agree on something then you go back on it. You do not respect me as a brand and I cannot appreciate that.

“I have no comment over the matter. We had talked and agreed that we would not talk about it (Talanta Hela). I will honestly walk out of here," Nasenya stated during the June 21 interview.

Nasenya was among a number of celebrities who lost their role in the Talanta Hela Council after the revocation of their appointment on June 9.

Others were Esther Akoth (Akothee), Daniel Ndambuki (Churchill), and digital strategist Dennis Itumbi among others.

Namwamba did not provide reasons behind the revocation of the appointments.
