Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday addressed the absence of Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed at Azimio meetings.
Speaking during his tour of Migori County, Raila revealed that he had personally engaged his ally to run some of his errands without providing details of the tasks being handled by the lawmaker.
The ODM boss also divulged that the MP had been in Europe detailing that he spent time with him during his visit to the UK last month.
He added that his ally was okay and would make a public appearance soon.
During the meeting, he asserted that Junet was among the most trusted lieutenants of the party amidst speculation over the MPs's absence in Raila events.
"There is a young man who has worked very hard for the party and his name is Junet. He was unable to come today but I was with him the other day in the UK and I have sent him somewhere else. I hope you will accept his greeting," he stated.
The ODM leader made the remarks while touring Mohamed's neighbouring constituency, Suna West, even as questions arise over the lawmaker's whereabouts.
Junet was last seen at a public event in the country on August 3 where he addressed Parliament over the controversial Worldcoin.
On social media, his last activity was on July 23 when he flagged fake posts castigating ODM for the demonstrations against the government.
However, on August 21, he was photographed alongside the former premier in the UK during the English Premier League game between Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
Junet's absence from Azimio's events has led to speculations over a possible rift between him and other close allies of the ODM boss.
Notably, Mohamed did not attend any of the opposition demonstrations held in July.
