Embattled Jubilee Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni has asked Kenyans to donate funds that will assist the party to fund its activities.
Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, Kioni said the efforts will be concentrated on the Mt Kenya region to help the former ruling party reclaim its former glories in the region.
Kioni added that the Kamwene Forum would also assist in addressing issues that Mount Kenya residents are facing.
At the same time, Kioni disputed speculation that Mt Kenya leaders are planning to ditch Azimio and adopt the Kamwene Forum as their new preferred political vehicle.
Mount Kenya leaders in the Azimio camp have in the past convened meetings to discuss the region's interests.
Politicians who have warmed up to the Kamwene strategy include; Kioni, Martha Karua (NARC-Kenya), former Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, Party of National Unity leader Peter Munya among others.
"Azimio is intact but we have a forum to articulate issues of Mount Kenya region. This government has alienated our needs and hence we need to advocate for our people's interests," he said.
"We will also be looking for well-wishers to help us in funding for activities in the region."
While delivering his speech, Kioni questioned whether the government would keep its promise of addressing the cost of living, especially considering that the current administration has introduced a host of new taxes.
"To the Mt Kenya leaders in government, stop being used to hide the fraud in this government. In the case of taxation, we gave our proposal (during the bipartisan talks) for the government to have a limit as to how much someone can be taxed in Kenya and we were told it is a pedestrian way of thinking," he stated.
"In the coming days, we shall know who is the pedestrian because the government belongs to the people."
Kioni added that it is high time that the national resource allocation formula is revised to allocate resources based on the region's population.
The Secretary General further questioned why Mt Kenya, despite contributing huge amounts to the tax basket, gets a raw deal when it comes to development projects.
The Jubilee SG asked Mount Kenya residents to take heed of former President Uhuru Kenyatta's advice and hold th government to account.
