The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), through its training college, the East African School of Aviation, has announced free training for Kenyans.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Kenyans will be offered lessons in 5 aviation themes at the institution in Embakasi, off Airport North Road.
The training will be offered on Saturday, October 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
As part of the open day, various experts will also engage attendees in five thematic areas, including how to keep an aircraft airworthy, flying a plane safely and management of flight turnaround - the period between when a plane lands and takes off from an airport.
Aviation experts will also teach cabin crew safety and keeping planes separated.
"The primary objective of the event is to provide a good opportunity for potential students and the general public to learn more about the aviation industry and interact with professionals in the field. The theme of the open/innovation day is Leveraging on Innovation To Transform The Next Generation Of Aviators," read the notice in part.
Additionally, those who attend will be given snippets on 22 courses offered in aviation schools, including airport operations, flight dispatch, air traffic management, cabin crew and aeronautical engineering.
Other courses will entail safety management systems, aviation customer care, electrical engineering and dangerous goods.
The institution noted that it targets young Kenyans through the programme, who can be shaped to join the aviation industry.
Therefore, learning institutions were advised to take their students to the event.
