Kenya Power, which trades under the KPLC ticker, has announced that Runda residents will face a blackout for eight hours on Wednesday.

In a statement, the power utility company singled Runda Evergreen Estate, Runda Meadows and Duom Palm Street among the most affected.

Kenya Power explained that a scheduled maintenance necessitated the power interruption.

Other areas in Nairobi that will be affected by the blackout are Tara Rd, Cactus Street, Baobab Street, Ebony Street, Garden Drive, Woodvale Drive, Flame Tree, Mugumo Drive, Part of Ruaka Rd and adjacent customers.

The interruption comes when the utility firm has intensified a crackdown on vandals of electricity transformers.

The DCI officers were drawn from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) and were assisted by National Government Administration Officers (NGAO).
