Residents in Kirinyaga County are still coming to terms with the cruel turn of events that led to the death of two men, a woman and two children from the same family in a tragic car accident, as they were travelling from a funeral in Meru.
The accident occurred early Sunday morning when a car they were driving in fell into Nyamindi River along Embu-Mwea road.
The five, along with one other person were driving in a personal car when it veered off the road and into the river.
One person survived the accident and was taken to Embu hospital where he is recuperating.
Citizen Tv reports that police and resident spent the better part of Sunday morning trying to recover the bodies from the river.
Several accidents have occured at the bridge in the pas and has now been marked as a black spot.
