Deputy President William Ruto was on Monday heckled and booed by angry youth during his visit in Garissa County where he had gone to launch projects.
Upon arriving in Garissa town, some youth donned in Orange shirts started shouting at Ruto while chanting pro-ODM and anti-Jubilee slogans.
They claimed that the Jubilee Government had abandoned North Eastern residents and failed to tackle terror attacks which had claimed many lives in the area.
They added that President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto had failed to stem the rampant corruption in the jubilee administration stating that they would prefer Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho to be their President in 2022.
The rowdy youth took Jubilee shirts inscribed with the “Tuko Pamoja” slogan and tore them into pieces.
However, despite the fracas, Ruto was able to address residents in Garissa town and also launched a Sh5 Billion tarmac road linking Ijara Constituency to Wema in the Coast region.
The DP was accompanied by the area legislator Aden Duale, Lagdera MP Mohamed Shidiye, Ijara lawmaker Ibrahim Abass and Mandera East MP Mohamed Mohamud.
