Drama As Priest Storms Off Burial Service

There was drama in Kakamega County after a priest stopped presiding over a burial ceremony, and walked away halfway through the service.

Trouble started when a drunk relative of the deceased disrupted the otherwise peaceful funeral ceremony.

The catholic priest did not take too kindly to the interuption, walking away annoyed, claiming that his conscience would not allow him to preside over a sham of a funeral.

The drunk relative identified as Henry by The Standard, reportedly arrived at the funeral late, insisting that he had to view the body of the decesed, despite the body viewing session having passed.

In his struggle to see the body by force, Henry got into a physical altercation with the ushers and family members of the deceased.

It is then that the priest stormed off, having had enough of the drama.

Some mourners also left the ceremony as the embarassing scene unfolded.

Family and friends of the deceased proceeded with the burial without the priest, after pleas to convince him failed.
