Jack Ranguma's Political Advisor Ejected From Office

Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma was on Friday reportedly forced to cut short a meeting and flee after angry youth stormed his office in the ninth floor.

Ranguma is said to have been hosting Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) officials led by Secretary General Wilson Sossion when the irate group tried to access the office in vain.

Unable to get to the governor, the group turned on Ranguma's political advisor Philip Ochieng, dramatically throwing him out of his ninth-floor office.

The irate youth stormed Ochieng's office claiming that he and other officers were playing politics at the expense of development.

They dragged the advisor out of the office all the way to the ground floor accusing the officers of nepotism and hindering the governor from tackling issues affecting residents.

The group led by Elvis Omondi noted that they were in support of Ranguma but had to clean up his office before the August General Election.

"We are in support of Ranguma’s re-election but we will not allow his employees to mix politics with serving youths and the people in general. We want to claim back our strength in the fight for devolution because this Governor has ignored youths whose rate of unemployment is high,” Omondi stated.

The youth claimed that the governor's office was dominated by his relatives who were not effective in delivering the services to the public and were making Ranguma's office inaccessible.

The situation was however calmed down by police officers who arrived at the scene.
