Journalist Joshua Arap Sang on Tuesday could not stand the emotional impact of a ruling terminating his case at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Speaking to journalists after the verdict, Sang was lost for words following the victory, hence shed tears in celebration of his long awaited liberation.
“I am just delighted that I have my freedom that I have been longing for the last six or seven years. God has seen us through today. I am so happy. That is what matters,” Sang said while fighting back tears.
The radio journalist extended his gratitude to his lawyers and every Kenyan who supported and prayed for him.
Sang reiterated that he had always been innocent adding that he would issue a formal statement on Thursday.
ICC on Tuesday, ruled that Deputy President William Ruto and Sang had no-case to answer stating that: "The charges are hereby vacated and the accused are discharged from the process without prejudice to their presumption of innocence or the prosecutors right to re-prosecute at a later time".

Sang had been accused of using his profession as a radio journalist to propagate hate speech ,which contributed to the 2007/2008 post election violence.
After he was linked to the skirmishes, he had to quit his job as it proved impossible for him to continue.
“It has been very difficult to work while the case is on. You can imagine, if I applied for a job while the matter was pending before the ICC, how would the employer evaluate my situation? Even co-workers would be uncomfortable. That is why I resigned from my former job at the Kass FM,” Sang was quoted by the Standard.
