Jubilee Nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA) Janet Wala stole the show on Thursday after she took a selfie at a special session of the Nairobi County Assembly.
Ms Wala, captured by a hawk-eyed photographer, flipped out her phone and captured the moment as Nairobi Finance Executive Gregory Mwakanogo presented a Sh35.9 Billion budget.
It is not lost to many that the immaculately dressed Wala, chose a prime position alone in the aisle for the selfie, except for the chamber officer behind her.
The photo drew mixed reactions, many admiring her courage and looks, while others commented that it was a new way to show her support base what was going on in the chamber.
Other’s, however, drew a comparison as to how the elected officials have taken for granted serious issues that affect the common mwananchi.

Meanwhile, of the Sh35.9 Billion read by Mwakanogo, Sh24.1 Billion will be used on recurrent expenditure and Sh11.7 Billion on development.
Mwakanongo noted that unlike the previous years, the county will not be revising the rates upwards and overburdening the taxpayer, but will instead fine-tune the already existing revenue streams.
