An Embu court has sentenced a man to 50 years imprisonment for defiling three nursery school girls.
Josphat Namu was found guilty of defiling, sexually assaulting and indecently touching the minors' private parts on May 21, 2014, at Kithimu location, Embu West sub-county, The Standard reports.
The court heard that on the fateful day, Namu and another man Francis Nthiga, lured the children to a maize plantation where they defiled them.
The children reported the matter to their parents.
The two were caught and thoroughly beaten by an angry mob before being rescued by police officers
Nthiga was sentenced to 25 years in jail early this year.
Namu had pleaded not guilty saying that one of the girl's family was making up the story because of a land dispute between them.
Senior Resident Magistrate Vincent Nyakundi, however dismissed his pleas, giving him 14 days to appeal the ruling.
