Students at Maojo Primary School in Ganze constituency, Kilifi County were forced to go back home due to heavy downpour making learning impossible.
According to The Star, the more than 200 students learn under trees due to lack of classrooms and were forced to cut their classes short after it started raining heavily.
The school’s headmistress says that only students from standard five learn in classrooms as the school cannot afford to build extra classes.
She says that the school has poor infrastructure and substandard facilities and is calling on the county government to help in providing funds to enable the construction of other classrooms.
