NASA Co-principal Musalia Mudavadi Responds to Suit by Northern Advocacy for Sustainable Agriculture Over Name Ownership

The National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals have rubbished claims by a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that it owned the acronym NASA.

Speaking at a rally in Wajir, Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi dismissed the claims by the Northern Advocacy for Sustainable Agriculture as a joke and baseless propaganda.

“Who has ever taken anyone to court because of a name? Why haven't other institutions like Jubilee Insurance sued Jubilee Party because of the name? This individual needs to be serious," said Mudavadi.

Mudavadi accused the NGO of being a ploy to derail the Opposition from its agenda and distract it from its mandate to unseat the ruling Jubilee government.

He declared that NASA would not be shaken nor deterred from uniting Kenyans adding that any crude attempts to de-legitimise the Opposition would fail.

The Northern Advocacy for Sustainable Agriculture, went to court on Friday under a certificate of urgency, seeking an injunction to bar the four politicians from using the name ‘NASA’.

The NGO claimed that it was the rightful owner of the acronym and was entitled to enjoy its exclusive use and operations to the exclusion of the politicians.
