The life of a female reporter working with the Standard Group Limited is in danger following numerous reports she has done exposing rot in the Migori County Government.
Scophine Otieno, a correspondent in the Western Region County, noted that she was informed of the alleged plan to kidnap her by an employee working at the county administration.
According to Ms Otieno, the source who spoke on condition of anonymity, divulged to her that the ploy was orchestrated after her recent exposé on corruption in the County.
The reporter stated that she had also been threatened verbally during political rallies.
“Wednesday I got very scared when I heard meetings were being held to plan to harm me,” Otieno was quoted by the Standard.
She has since reported the matter to the County CID officer Benedict Kigen, who has launched investigations into the matter.
Otieno has reported various corruption stories in the County including 'How Migori Has Lost 129 million Paying Ghost Workers'.
She also exposed how a nurse sedated and raped a colleague at Migori dispensary among others.
