Suspected Gay Couple Evicted From Their Home

A suspected gay couple has reportedly been evicted from their home at Kabete area, Nairobi.

The two aged 26 and 29, were allegedly evicted by their landlord from the house they had rented for the last 2 years.

According to a report on Gay Star News, the two had earlier told the landlord that they were just friends living together as a way of cutting on expenses.

The landlord however evicted them telling them, "go and wait for your Obama", after rumours abound that they were indeed homosexuals.

Confirming the incident to the Star, yesterday, Gay rights' activist Dennis Nzioka said prior to their eviction -last Friday- the two had informed him that rumours had spread among the couple's neighbors and that they were receiving a cold shoulder from the neighbors.

The incident comes amid increasing anti-gay campaigns in the country.

The anti-gay campaigns have received prominence, ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit to Kenya on July 25.

Obama has been on record advocating for homosexuals' rights, a stand that various lobby groups in Kenya have protested, warning the US president not to touch on the gay agenda while in Kenya.
