A Jubilee affiliated Tetu Parliamentary aspirant Ann Kanyi is nursing leg, back injuries and a dislocated knee after she was ambushed by goons during her campaign trail.
Ms Kanyi who was campaigning in her constituency, before a gang of youth blocked her way and dragged her out of the car and started assaulting her.
“When the car blocked me, four masked armed men jumped out and came running towards my car. Within three minutes I had been terrorized enough. It was like a movie. They dragged us out of the car and forced us to lie down after smashing the right back window with a metal bar,” the shaken aspirant narrated.
Kanyi further stated that her assailants did not steal anything from her but threatened to shoot her demanding that she drops her bid to vie for the seat.
She recorded a statement over the incident at Gachatha Police Post.
Tetu Deputy County Commissioner Herman Shambi assured Kanyi of her safety and indicated that he had banned all night meetings in the area.
She was later treated at Mathari Mission Hospital. No arrest were made.
Her attack comes in the wake after chaos erupted in Kabete after a vehicle belonging to parliamentary aspirant Charles Chege Gitau popularly known as 'Chege Fresh' was found riddled with bullets on the back door and rear windscreen.
The aspirant's supporters lit bonfires and barricaded parts of Gitaru-Wangige road protesting his disappearance.
Chege was expected to launch his manifesto on Saturday at Kanjeru Stadium.
