Groove Awards announced its tenth anniversary at a colourful Nomination Night. There were great moments all through the night. Here are the most notable ones:
1. Willy Paul and Bahati's reconciliation:
Facilitated by Pastor Patrick Kuchio, the unscripted act was certainly unexpected.
2. Jfam puzzles the crowd with his Patios:
The Mathare-hailing reggae artiste flaunted his Jamaican lingo when he took to the stage as a category announcer. Needless to say, he charmed his audience.
3. G10 audience engagement:
From trivia to funny clips, GNN presented plenty of opportunities for industry stakeholders to reflect on Groove's decade. Give aways by Safaricom included ipads, phones and generous denominations of airtime.
4. Lady B #unashamed:
When she got on stage, Lady B was unimpressed by how the audience celebrated Christ. Testifying of God's transformational power, her story of redemption was moving.
5. Jalango's Groove Camp Commentary:
It appears that DK handed over the target n his to Benachi. A victim of comedian Jalango's unforgiving humour, the Mwanake singer featured heavily on the Groove Camp clip. Other highlights included the holistic focus of the camp.
6. Trending in KE
With all the fun going on at GNN, there was so much to tweet about. Crowds quickly got #GrooveWithSafaricom at the coveted top of the trend list.
