VIDEO: Deputy President and Bomet Governor Sharply Disagree In Public

Deputy President William Ruto and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto took on each other in a war of words at a women group fundraiser in Bomet County.

The two on Saturday exchanged accusations at the Bomet stadium with Isaac Ruto claiming that the DP had hired political mercenaries to undermine and intimidate him.

The Governor's sentiments did not go down well with William Ruto's supporters in the crowd who responded with shouting.

Governor Ruto even threatened to bring the function to a close after he was shouted at by the DP's supporters.

“If you do not keep quiet this meeting will be stopped. Can you tell those fellows to stop singing, we do not want stupidity here,” he told the yelping supporters with a lot of vehemence.

When the Deputy President took to the stage he did not take time before responding to his former political ally.

“Why are you being intimidated that the meeting will end prematurely? Whose meeting will stop? I have come here and I feel at home,” William Ruto went rhetoric amid cheers from his supporters.

In an interesting twist the leaders who accompanied William Ruto were also heckled in what became clear that the two Ruto's had brought separate supporters to the event.

The differences of the two Riftvalley bigwigs has prevailed for several months now and are seen as a way of creating political dominance in the region.
