VIDEO: 'Uhuru Kenyatta' Falls In front of Guests

Minutes before President Uhuru Kenyatta  walked into the Global Compact Anti-Corruption Conference venue at Safari Park Hotel, his potrait came down with a thud leaving delegates in attendance surprised.

A man had gone up a ladder near the dais to fix Mr Kenyatta's potrait, but after successfully putting it in place, it fell off as he climbed down breaking to pieces.

The security and maintenance personnel looked distressed for some minutes, before picking a smaller potrait which they mounted on the wall moments before the President made his way in.

Speaking at the function, Mr Kenyatta talked tough on corruption, citing the toll it was taking on the country.

“The fight against corruption is unstoppable and will be painful to the perpetrators. The anti-graft war is not about individuals, but against the vice and must target all perpetrators,” he said in his speech.

He affirmed that together with the private sector, the war against corruption would be won. He said the Bribery Bill drafted by the private sector was at the Attorney General's office and would be tabled before parliament for debate.

“Some feel that corruption will always be with us. They think the dirt of corruption will never be wiped clean. They plunge themselves into the muck. I assure you that the war against corruption shall be sustained and won,” the President said.
