Shock and grief has descended on Kilibwoni Ward, Nandi County after residents discovered the body of a minor, believed to have been strangled by her boyfriend.
The victim's body was found dumped in a swamp a few meters from her home, hardly a day after the suspect had left with her in the middle of the night.
According to reports, the 22 year old suspect had been illegally cohabiting with the form four student.
Despite the family's efforts to end the illicit relationship by taking the man to court, the affair seemed to have continued until the fateful night.
The motive behind the cruel act is yet to be established as the suspect has since disappeared.
The body was taken to Kapsabet Mortuary as police launched a man hunt for the suspect.
