The Wiper Democratic Movement is today expected to make a major announcement after the 7-day ultimatum issued to the National Super Alliance (NASA) to name the flagbearer expired last night.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, on Tuesday, Minority Leader in the National Assembly Francis Nyenze indicated that Wiper will on Wednesday make a pronouncement that will also give direction on the party’s way forward.
Nyenze further stated that Opposition leader Raila Odinga must honour the 2013 Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) MOU signed between him and Kalonzo.
“Let’s be honest, let’s be sincere and honour our pledges, this one will be the last straw that breaks the camel’s back,” Nyenze indicated.
The Minority leader also dismissed the NASA Coordinating Committee, indicating that it was comprised of skewed members who were meant to favour one side of the coalition.
“That Committee is skewed and the results will favour only one side, so we don’t have to keep meeting and even if we meet a hundred times, we will not agree until the MOU is honoured,” Nyenze mentioned.
Nyenze also took a swipe at Raila for issuing out over 800 direct nominations saying that the move had jeopardised to have joint Opposition nominations and created more rifts in the coalition which could give the Jubilee Party an easy win.
Last week, Nyenze gave the coalition 7 days to name Kalonzo as flag bearer failure to which Wiper party would leave the coalition.
