Witness Identifies Alleged Killers Of Late MP

The case in which seven people are accused of killing the late Kabete MP George Muchai resumed yesterday, with a witness identifying three men as the men behind the shooting of the legislator and his bodyguards.

The Nairobi court heard that Raphael Gachii, Kimani Anyonyi and Stephen Lipapo were involved in the shooting.

Witnesses told the court that the three were part of a seven man gang that had been on a carjacking spree on the fateful night.

According to The Star, Gladys Waithera, identified the men as the criminals who had carjacked her and her sister at gunpoint and later shooting the MP.

The Nation also reports of a similar testimony from a Michael Ngatia, who said he had been waiting for his wife at around 10pm when a gunman knocked on the driver’s window and ordered him to open the door.

He was bundled into the boot of the car and was driven around for several minutes, all the while the criminals continued to terrorize other motorists.

The seven are all facing separate murder charges with four among them facing additional charges of robbery with violence.

The case resumes hearing on August 11.
