Church Members at the DCK Catholic Church in Naivasha, were on Sunday left in dire shock after the priest collapsed halfway through the Service.
Father Patrick Kuria, is said to have lost consciousness while conducting mass, before he was confirmed dead shortly after.
According to the congregants, Father Patrick seemed unwell as the service progressed before he passed out.
“Some of the worshippers rushed to assist the priest and took him to a nearby room for first aid before taking him to hospital,” the Star quotes Sister Florence Muia.
However, on arrival at the hospital the Man of God was pronounced dead.
The rare incident prompted the interruption of the service with worshippers rushing to the Health Centre where the Priest had been taken.
Father Patrick's death caught many by surprise, with Sister Muia noting that the late priest was in high spirits and seemed okay during a fundraiser held on Saturday.
The body of the deceased was transferred to the War Memorial Hospital mortuary in Nakuru.
