Uhuru Narrates How He Was Bullied in School [VIDEO]

In an interview by Equity CEO James Mwangi, President Uhuru Kenyatta revealed how he was once bullied in school and his father, who was the former Head of State, did nothing about it.

Uhuru was by then in class six in a boarding school when he was roughed up by senior students in class seven.

“ I remember there was one particular evening the senior standard seven students decided to loot us out in the evening and they also beat us really bad.

"When heading back to the dormitory, my friends piled pressure on me to call my father who was then the president and have him take action,” he narrated

He caved in to the pressure and decided to call their Gatundu home.

President Kenyatta went on to explain how he put on a remorseful tone to sound more convincing to his father.

It was about 9:30 when the former president picked up the phone and he narrated the ordeals of the day.

“We have really been mishandled… I can't understand why they are doing this to us…If we don’t get help these people are going to kill us,” Uhuru recalled amidst jeers of the audience.

Mzee Jomo did not give in to his pleas and directed to him to learn to fight his own battles and immediately hang up.

“My friends were standing there eagerly waiting and I had to lie to them that action is going to happen immediately. Pass word that people are coming to handle the bullies before the night ends,” he told his colleagues.

Even though a complete lie, he managed to wreak havoc among the class seven students.

“You learn to stand and fight on you own two feet, that’s what made me who I am today,” he told the listening beneficiaries of the Wings to Fly Scholarship programme.
