Traffic Police Attacked By Nakuru Tuk-Tuk Operators

A video involving a violent Tuk-Tuk operator caused a stir on the internet on Sunday with Kenyans condemning the incidents.

The video shows the operator and the officers engaging in a physical confrontation but it is not clear when the incident occurred.

After several hours of interrogations, it emerged that the incident occurred in Nakuru County.

In the clip, the Tuk-Tuk operator stopped, disembarked and punched the police in the face making him fall on the road.

A second officer who emerged to rescue his colleague from the attack is forced to escape as the motorist threatens to knock him down.

The drama continued with the officers picking stones and hulling them on the Tuk-Tuk as the driver tries to flee the scene.

In the video, a voice that is not quite clear is heard encouraging the Tuk-tuk rider to keep up the fight, saying the policemen deserved the hostility.

The video emerged just a few hours after taxi operators in Meru decried harassment from the police and the national transport Authority.

The taxi drivers and owners threatened to go on strike on Monday demanding audience from Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, lest they proceed to State House to present their grievances to the President.

Here is the video of the attack on the traffic police officers:
