Several incidences of collisions between trains and vehicles have been reported in the last few years.

In 2018, a train hit an oil tanker near Pipeline Estate in Nairobi, leading to a major traffic snarl up along Outering Road.

One person was injured in the incident with reports at the time indicating that the tanker was trying to maneuver its way past the railway crossing when the train rammed into it.

Luckily, no lives were lost but the accident resulted in heavy traffic for the better part of the morning.

A similar accident was witnessed when a Nairobi passenger train hit a saloon car at Mutindwa crossing in Umoja Estate.

Again, no casualties were reported in that morning crash.
