Kitany Discloses Linturi's Alleged Plan to Murder Her

During a court session at the Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday, August 28, Meru Senator Mithika Linturi's estranged wife, Marianne Kitany, claimed that he had hatched a plot to kill her.

Kitany told the court that the Meru senator had hired a lady to poison her. The lady, she claims, was supposed to cultivate a friendship with her before eventually poisoning her food.

The court heard that to date, Linturi's wife still fears for her life.

In her testimony, Kitany also disclosed that her estranged husband had sent armed goons to break into her home in Runda, Nairobi at night.

She narrated that the lawmaker told the police that the house had been evaded by terrorists, only for them to find her children, a sick relative and an uncle.

Kitany revealed that this incident prompted her to move to court, seeking orders to bar Linturi from accessing the house.

She stated that the move did not bar Linturi from accessing the house, as he came back accompanied by police, alleged goons and ‘kienyeji’ dogs.

“They broke the gate, broke one door and dogs entered the house. All the while, Linturi was giving people instructions while police were watching. We were ordered to get out of the house and we complied and left it to the police,” Kitany stated.

She told the court that the suspected goons, who were armed with crude weapons, arrived at their home in a 52-seater vehicle.

“The girls were scared. That night, the children went to relatives and I had to go to my friend’s house for the night of December 19-20,” stated Kitany.
