Video of MP's Underage Son Driving Angers Kenyans

Nominated MP David Sankok was on the receiving end of angry lashes on social media after he posted a video of his underage son driving a car.

In a video posted by the MP on his Facebook page on Sunday, November 24, Sankok's son was seen driving as his father cheered him on.

While captioning the photo, Sankok stated that he believed in training children from an early age.

"I support CBC because it will unleash the talents of our young ones because for a long time we have denied kids below 18 years driving licenses, aviation licenses and other technical duties. They may be below 18 years but they are not stupid," he began.

"If I buy a helicopter I will train them to fly, let us guide our kids in identifying their specific talents instead of focusing so much on classroom marks," he continued.

His sentiments were not taken lightly by his followers, most of whom said it was wrong for him to allow a minor to be behind the wheel.

"At this point, you're just teaching them that breaking the law is ok so long as you don't get caught," Ciku Muchiri commented.

"Isn't it obvious that those with little power in Kenya break the law? If it was a kid of an ordinary Kenyan, things would be different. Pathetic!" Waisaka Pierre stated.

"That's a tarmacked road used by other vehicles and you're giving underage kids a vehicle to drive," Zack Kinyua weighed in.

"Driving has now become part of unlimited talent to be unleashed in our kids? Did you just show up on earth or you just got your first car? You're endangering other drivers and pedestrians, let alone your own lives. Driving is not a talent, it's a skill to be taught. Your kids might be 'geniuses' but just follow the law," Owen added.
