City Pastor Stabs Wife & Kills Self at Pulpit as Worshippers Watch

A congregation in Mombasa was gripped with shock after a pastor repeatedly stabbed his wife at the pulpit before ending his own life while a church service was underway.

According to a report by K24 TV, the rogue pastor identified as Elisha Misiko, performed the heinous act on Sunday, January 5, 2020, in Chembani, Bamburi in Mombasa County.

Quoting Kisauni Sub-County Police Commander Julius Kiragu, the broadcaster further indicated that Misiko stabbed the woman at the back and on the hand before slitting his own throat.

Some of the congregants who were at the church at the time of the stabbing claimed that the pastor was aiming for the woman's chest but she tactically managed to save it by blocking with her hand.

It was also later disclosed that police found a 17-page note left behind by the deceased that detailed their marriage troubles.

The heinous act occurred at around 10:30 a.m.

The note indicated that the man of the cloth was unhappy with his wife and accused her of attempting to snatch the church he had created from under him.

He further noted that he had numerously taken his grievances to the Kiembeni Police Station in Kisauni.

The man is survived by his wife, who is nursing injuries, three sons and a daughter.

The woman was taken to  Coast General Hospital for treatment and the body of the deceased was taken to the same institution's mortuary.
