Flamboyant city lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi is a well known and respected figure in Kenya's legal circles but very few people know the expensive things he owns.

In numerous media sit-downs, the outspoken lawyer has shown that he is not shy to flaunt his expensive possessions. His entire life journey is in the public domain and displays a rough start in the sparsely populated neighbourhood in Mandera County.

After going through Mandera Primary School, Nairobi School and the University of Nairobi where he pursued law, the no-nonsense lawyer now eats life with a big spoon and he is not afraid to say it.

Bentley Bentayga

In 2018, the outspoken lawyer set tongues wagging across the city after reports became awash that he had splashed a mouthwatering Ksh40 million to acquire a top-of-the-range Bentley Bentayga car.

In the showroom in the US, the car cost Ksh28 million but the figure easily rises to Ksh40 million when shipping costs and licenses are factored in.

Porsche Cayenne, Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover Discovery

The lawyer, popularly known by his nickname Grand Mullah, a name given to him by former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, is also a big spender in the car game, considering his sizeable collection.

"My first car was a Suzuki Vitara, which I bought two years after I started my law firm. I then bought a BMW from the Mashariki Showroom.

"I drive a Porshe Cayenne, Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover Discovery. I will never drive a Mercedes Benz or Range rover. I’m never into what other people like," he disclosed in a past interview with Daily Nation.

In 2011, a Cayenne was estimated at Ksh4.8 million, Land Cruiser (Ksh6.9 million) while Land Rover Discovery ranged between Ksh2.2 million and Ksh3.8 million.

Extravagant Brioni suits

The lawyer has appeared several times on JKLive and each time, none of their discussions have failed to gravitate around his knack for high-end designer clothes, most notably Brioni suits.

In a January 2019 episode, the flamboyant lawyer bragged about one such suit which had set him back a cool Ksh1.2 million.

“I have good taste in clothes - suits, shirts, ties, and shoes. All my jeans are and most of my suits are by Brioni. I’m into labels. I shop when I travel and my clothes remind me of where I have been,” he once stated in a Daily Nation interview.

Brioni is a high-end Italian fashion house that is preferred by world leaders among them US President Donald Trump and George Bush.

Montblanc Pen

To most Kenyans, however much a pen is considered a basic commodity for school-going and working-class citizens, the cheaper the better.

For Ahmednassir, however, the grander the pen the more sophisticated a public figure seems, and that is well articulated in his choice of a genuine Montblanc pen.

A spot check by Kenyans.co.ke discovered that the cheapest pen of the above-mentioned brand retails for Ksh 42,000.

Expensive Watch

In sit down with Daily Nation in 2014, the lawmaker gushed over his love for high-end stuff and what is a man without a watch worth an arm and a leg?

"I have never bought a fake in my life. Never! I went to Hong Kong once with a lawyer friend of mine and bought this watch I’m wearing for Ksh 870,000. I live for today, I don’t save money, I don’t care what happens tomorrow. Only God has plans for tomorrow," he told Jackson Biko regarding an expensive watch he was wearing at the time.
