Blessed Njugush

Putting a smile on people's faces is not as easy as it seems.

It becomes an even more challenging task when someone not only achieves this but also succeeds in cultivating a devoted following and establishing a sustainable brand.

Njugush has remarkably accomplished this, placing him in the exclusive league of Kenyans who have dared to defy this year.

Blessed Njugush is a comedian, actor, mentor and MC. Together with his wife, they manage a YouTube channel with over 500K subscribers churning out diverse comedy skits ranging from political satire and everyday Kenyan life.

Despite his runaway success, his stars weren’t always aligned.

Due to financial challenges in his family, Njugush could not attend his dream university as his dad priotised paying school fees for his younger brother who was in high school at the time.

He ended up joining the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication where he majored in Theatre.

Fast forward to now, he is a household name in the comedy industry. His stand-up comedy shows not only sell out within Kenyan shores but in Western countries such as Australia as well.

Despite being an out-and-out comedian, Njugush has also starred in various TV shows including The Real Househelps of Kawangware which propelled him to the top.

“Creating a name in this industry is very hard and can take years, but destroying it is very easy. It can happen in a single minute,” he opened up in a recent interview.

At the moment, he has set his sights beyond acting roles to avoid falling into the typecasting trap.
