Carlos Mureithi

 

Carlos Mureithi is a journalist working as the Africa Climate & Environment Correspondent for The Associated Press (AP).

Based in Nairobi, Mureithi is a widely experienced journalist who has worked with mainstream media companies both locally and internationally throughout his career.

Before joining AP, Mureithi worked as the Africa correspondent for The Christian Science Monitor.

Before joining the Monitor, Carlos was the East Africa Editor at the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. 

Before that, he was the East Africa Correspondent for Quartz which came after a stint as a Contributing Writer for The New York Times.

For close to 9 years, he also held various positions within the Nation Media Group.

His work has also been published by Reuters, Africa Check the Human Rights Center, UC Berkeley School of Law

Carlos holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the United States International University (USIU) in Kenya.

He also holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
