Jane Karuku

Jane Karuku is a captain of industry and a business leader with over 20 years of experience in management across diverse sectors.

She is the current Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL), a position she has held since 2021.

While discharging her duties, Dr. Karuku abides by her mantra "Grow people with energy", which she believes will inspire and help them to unleash their potential.

Before ascending to her current role, Karuku was the Managing Director of Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL). 

Karuku has also contributed immensely to Kenyan society, most memorably leading the corporate sector’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic that saw both blue chip companies and Kenyans raise Ksh2.7 billion to help mitigate the effects of the disease.

She is currently the Chairperson of Kenya’s Vision 2030 Board, a trustee at the United States International University (USIU), and a board member at the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM).

Before joining the brewer, Karuku held several senior positions in corporate Kenya including serving as Deputy Chief Executive and Secretary-General at Telkom Kenya, and Managing Director, at Cadbury East and Central Africa.

Before that, Karuku worked with Farmers Choice Kenya and the Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC). She has also been a board member of  Barclays Bank of Kenya (now ABSA) and Junior Achievement-Kenya.

Karuku holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Technology from the University of Nairobi and a Masters In Business Administration from the National University of California.
