Mutahi Kibugu

Coming from a storied family of successful golfers in Kenya, Mutahi Kibugu has kept the family passion alive.

In 2022, his older brother, Njoroge Kibugu, was the only Kenyan who made the cut at the Magical Kenya Open. This year, Mutahi followed suit.

His father Daniel Kagwe was also an amateur golfer in the 2000s

Mutahi emerged at position 139 in the 2019 Kenya Open but qualified as the top junior in Kenya in 2021

According to DP World Tour, Kibugu participated in the Magical Kenya Open in 2019 and March 2023.

In June this year, he also participated in the Porsche European Open.

Golf is not just his hobby. It is his passion and he is attached to Muthaiga Golf Club.

In a recent media interview, Mutahi highlighted his passion for running, actively engaging in 10km and 15km races as a means to challenge his cognitive abilities.

Additionally, he is a dedicated fitness enthusiast, consistently hitting the gym to maintain his workout routine.

"I do my runs in Kileleshwa, Kilimani, Riverside, and at the Nairobi Jaffrey's Club where traffic is less. Running helps me to clear my mind whenever it's foggy," he stated.
