Wangari Kuria

Wangari Kuria is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Farmer on Fire which focuses on empowering farmers in a bid to promote food security.

She is an experienced farm project manager and an advocate for women and youth. 

Through the organisation, she runs various programs such as a single mothers farming initiative in Kajiado County.

Her work at the body has attracted reputable organisations which have partnered with her in her journey to transform the lives of thousands of women.  

Some of the organisations she works with include, John Deere, the Kenyan Ministry of Agriculture, and the Africa Food Systems Forum (AGRF).

Kuria was also one of the winners of the Forbes Forty Under 40 Africa Awards under the Agriculture Award category.  

She also won the award for trailblazing activist in systemic barriers and food security during the New York Global Citizen Prize Award 2023.
