Willis Otieno

 

Willis Otieno is a Kenyan long jump athlete.

In June this year, Willis won Kenya's first medal, silver, at the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, Germany after finishing second in the standing long jump.

Otieno, 22, managed 1.25m off his third and final attempt in a contest won by  Hajredini Agron of North Macedonia on 1.6m. Sepulveda Roman of Colombia was third after registering a hop of 1.13m.

For his exploits, Willis was recognised by Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi who is also the patron of the Special Olympics team.

Otieno, who has an intellectual disability, was all smiles as she received a warm hug from Pastor Dorcas.
