Zeynab Wandati

Zeynab Wandati currently serving as the Sustainability and Climate Editor at the Nation Media Group is one of the most decorated science journalists not only in Kenya but in the African continent.

She first got global recognition in 2017 when she received the FAO’s a.H Boerma Award.

This was in appreciation of her commitment to environmental journalism and the positive societal impact stemming from her reporting.

Her other regional and international awards include the Africa Climate Change and Environmental Reporting Award which she won in July 2014 as well as Business Reporting Award - TV Category awarded by MCK in 2017.

Wandati is also the recipient of a continental award from the Africa Conservation Tillage Network for her reporting on conservation.

Her work extends beyond journalism, as she has also been involved in initiatives related to women's economic empowerment and gender equality.

An alma mater of Alliance Girls High School, Wandati reckons that the biggest challenge facing food security in Kenya is transport logistics.
